In the Kokin Wakashū, a classic anthology of Japanese poetry, there is a verse:
Because of the single violet flower, all the grasses of Musashino seem dear to me.
This verse reflects a timeless truth: when we hold something dear, all that surrounds it becomes meaningful—infused with warmth, memory, and connection.
Over time, this sentiment came to be known as Murasaki no Yukari, inspiring motifs in The Tale of Genji, a cornerstone of Japanese literature.
